Nevi was founded in 1992 by Sergio Finazzi and his wife Consuelo, born from Finazzi’s passion for cycling and mountain experiences. The name itself carries poetic significance: “Nevi” is Italian for “snow,” inspired by a memorable and challenging stage of the 1988 Tour of Italy that crossed the snow-covered Gavia Pass—an experience that crystallized Finazzi’s vision of creating something extraordinary.
Finazzi brought more than passion to the venture; he brought genuine racing credentials. A professional cyclist from 1987 to 1990, he achieved notable stage victories and placements, including a stage win at Tirreno-Adriatico in 1987 and a seventh-place finish in a historic 1988 Tour of Italy stage. This racing background informed the brand’s DNA: a commitment to performance, quality, and the pursuit of excellence.
